The American Progressive Bag Alliance (APBA) was founded in 2005 to represent a thriving and growing industry employing tens of thousands of American workers. APBA’s current advocacy initiatives serve as your front line defense against plastic bag bans and taxes while proactively promoting your product lines. Key initiatives include:

• Litter prevention
• Increasing bag reuse
• Correcting misperceptions concerning litter and waste
• Municipal proposals that could impact consumer use of plastic bags

With the support of the industry’s 30,000 American workers, APBA promotes American-made plastic products as the best environmental choice at check out—for both retailers and consumers. But the fight continues as environmental fear mongers continue to spread misinformation that influences states and cities across the country to consider plastic grocery bag bans or taxes. And they won’t stop there.  Environmentalists are aggressively working to also ban and/or tax all retail, merchandise, pharmacy, restaurant and convenience store bags.
