Plastic Molding Technology Inc. of El Paso hosted freshman Congressman Beto O’Rourke (D-TX) at its El Paso, Texas, facility on February 21. Escorted through the plant by CEO Chuck Sholtis and accompanied by SPI President Bill Carteaux, Representative O’Rourke saw a demonstration of plastics manufacturing in his district and learned about recycling and sustainability initiatives being promoted by SPI member companies around the country.
“Touring the Plastic Molding Technology's plant with Representative Beto O'Rourke was an excellent opportunity to show the Congressman the economic benefits that the plastics industry brings to El Paso,” said Carteaux. “We saw how the components PMT manufactures impact the electronic, medical, automotive and consumer appliance sectors. Congressman O’Rourke was particularly excited about PMT’s location on the border with Mexico – a source of job opportunity that he believes is key to his district’s economic growth.”
