What is PeopleScreen™

Developed for the industry by the Society of the Plastics Industry, Inc. (SPI) and the Spherion Assessment Group, PeopleScreen™ utilizes innovative technologies to quickly and accurately screen any number of job candidates for hourly positions within a plastics manufacturing facility. With PeopleScreen,™ the first step in the employment process has been completed for you. It delivers you a pool of best-match candidates for further consideration, reducing the time and money you spend evaluating resumes and identifying the right hires.

How It Works

PeopleScreen™ uses a two-tier process to prescreen job applicants via the phone to determine their qualification and fit before moving on to the more time and cost-intensive assessment and hiring procedures. It is the first step in narrowing down a pool of potential candidates for your organization.

  • PeopleScreen™'s Tier One – Candidates begin by answering a number of questions focused on basic qualifications such as age, criminal background, eligibility to work and years of experience. Failure to meet any one of the minimum qualifications asked in Tier One could disqualify an applicant from continuing through the employment process.
  • PeopleScreen™'s Tier Two – If candidates meet the basic requirements in Tier One, they will then move seamlessly on to Tier Two, which contains yes/no questions designed to measure behavioral characteristics and work-related attitudes. Responses to these questions are used to determine whether they are a best, meets or least match for further consideration in the job.

In order to aid you in identifying best candidates for further consideration, PeopleScreen™ delivers a detailed summary of each candidate via e-mail or fax. This provides basic candidate information and a rank (best, meets or least match) to let you know how well the candidate fits the job requirements.

When It Works

PeopleScreen™ is literally "open 24 hours." Through two technological platforms, PeopleScreen™ prescreens applicants 24 hours a day, seven days a week. This approach allows you to extensively broaden your potential candidate pool, including those who may work off-hours or may not be computer-savvy.

  • Interactive Voice Response (IVR) – Participants complete the automated prescreening service over the phone, answering a series of questions through a user-friendly voice interaction program.
  • Interactive Web-Based – Completely Web-enabled and requiring no download or IT integration, participants access a Web site via the Internet and complete the prescreening on-line.
