Why is pre-screening candidates so important? In today's tight job market, a single opening can garner hundreds of responses. While there are a number of candidates with the right skills and experience, you need to be sure to screen out the candidates who are not a good cultural fit or who are least likely to stay. Take the time to put in a simple screening process that will help you quickly yet thoroughly evaluate the applicant pool. Whether it is outsourcing candidate screening or building a simple process to identify desired skills, experience or industry background, structured applicant assessments will help ensure that you are interviewing-and spending time with-the right candidates. How long does it take to set up the automated system? It usually takes about 2 weeks, To add on the existing application, It will take between 2 and 4 weeks to customize a new application, depending on the complexity required. How often can I use this service? Once your company has been added to the Spherion System, you are free to use it whenever the need arises. How long does a typical assessment take? It typically takes 6-8 minutes to complete the assessment. What is a customized assessment? A customized assessment can be any one of the following:
What are Tier I and Tier II Questions? Tier 1 questions cover: conditions of employment; skills pre-requisites; education pre-requisites; and experience level required for the job being applied for. Tier II questions cover five dimensions: cooperation; handle work demand; dependability; flexibility and work ethic. Do I have to call Spherion every time I want to activate the automated service? No clients are trained by Spherion representatives on how to open and close the assessments themselves. How often are reports generated to HR managers? Spherion sets up the reporting requirements for each client based on the frequency they'd like. How long does it take to generate a report on candidates applying for a position using this automated service? Reports, or "Candidate profiles", are generated within 30 minutes of the candidate completing the call. "Candidate Profiles" are sent back to the HR Manager via e-mail or fax. Is PeopleScreen™ available in languages other than English? Yes, the PeopleScreen™ is available in almost any language, for an additional translation and recording fee. What tools are required to manage the system? Spherion's on-line Hire Manager tool gives you the ability to access candidate profiles, research candidate calls and open and close your job positions. This is an important tool as it enables you to manage the flow of candidates through your interview, and therefore helps you to manage your costs.
