Washington D.C.—The Plastics Industry Association (PLASTICS) proudly recognizes and celebrates Manufacturing Day, the largest annual event to promote manufacturing in the United States.  PLASTICS is an official sponsor of Manufacturing Day, which works to show the reality of modern manufacturing careers by encouraging thousands of companies and educational institutions around the nation to open their doors to students, parents, teachers and community leaders.

The plastics industry is the seventh largest U.S. manufacturing industry, employs over one million workers and generates $548 billion.

“We see Manufacturing Day as another great opportunity to showcase the incredible career opportunities and innovations within our industry,” said PLASTICS’ President and CEO Matt Seaholm. “Our manufacturing members are constantly investing in new ways to make products even better and more sustainable and we need a talented workforce to help make that happen. Plastics touches nearly every aspect of our daily lives thanks to the hardworking people behind our products, and I encourage jobseekers and students to explore career paths in our essential industry.”

The Plastics Industry Association (PLASTICS) is the only organization that supports the entire plastics supply chain, including Equipment Suppliers, Material Suppliers, Processors, and Recyclers, representing over one million workers in our $548 billion U.S. industry.
