PLASTICS Commends Governor Newsom, Investments for New Recycling Sites in California

Washington D.C.— The Plastics Industry Association (PLASTICS) commends Governor Gavin Newsom’s announcement to invest in over 250 recycling sites across 30 counties in the state of California.

“We commend Governor Newsom’s investment in new recycling sites throughout California,” said PLASTICS President and CEO Matt Seaholm. “We believe investing in recycling infrastructure and advancing new technologies is the most effective path forward. Making recycling easier is key to increasing recycling rates.

“Almost a year ago, we launched our advocacy initiative, Recycling is Real, to show that recycling is happening across the country every day, including in California. We appreciate Governor Newsom’s commitment to recycling and the crucial role recycling plays in keeping waste out of the environment. Our industry remains committed to working together with lawmakers in California and across the U.S. to develop and enact effective policies that will protect our environment and get recycling rates where we all want them to be.”
