Plastics Industry Association Announces 2024 Future Leaders in Plastics Member of the Year

Washington, DC,— The Plastics Industry Association (PLASTICS) has named Katie Vorel, Senior Manager of Environment, Health, Safety, and Quality at Nexus Circular, as the 2024 Future Leaders in Plastics (FLiP) Member of the Year. This honor celebrates a plastics industry professional who exemplifies exceptional engagement, leadership, and dedication to the FLiP program’s community. The award highlights Katie’s outstanding contributions, positive impact, and commitment to advancing FLiP’s initiatives throughout the year.

Katie has demonstrated exemplary dedication to the Future Leaders in Plastics (FLiP) program since joining in March 2023 through active engagement in a wide range of FLiP activities, including events such as the FLiP & Sip Reception at NPE and PLASTICS’ Spring Meeting and the National Plastics Conference. She contributed to book club discussions, continuing education sessions, the mentorship program, annual litter cleanup, and has showcased her leadership abilities as the Chair of the Engagement Task Group in 2024. Katie will serve as Vice Chair for FLiP in 2025, reflecting her passion and dedication to the program’s future success.

The Future Leaders in Plastics (FLiP) program, created by the Plastics Industry Association (PLASTICS), is designed to foster the next generation of leaders within the plastics industry. It provides young professionals with opportunities for networking, mentorship, skill development, and leadership experience.
